About me:
My name is Brian Turner and I am a psychotherapist who specialises in anxiety and depression-based issues.
I work with an exclusive range of problems that range from anxiety, and addiction, right the way through to suicidal ideation. I work for many charities, including stamping out suicide, where I am the placement coordinator. I would say my greatest strength as a therapist is that I am able to deal with cases which are therapists might find hard to treat due to the original nature of the problem. My approach is always to try and find out why a behaviour pattern has set in, help you to come to terms with that, and find the best possible solution to get you back on track. Each person is an individual, as is their problem, and I will aim always to find the right solution to a unique problem.
Training:
I hold formal qualifications in hypnotherapy, counselling, mindfulness, PTSD, and cognitive behavioural therapy, (although my counselling qualification exposed me to a range of different techniques such as Gestalt therapy, transactional analysis etc). Quintessentially, I have a very broad skill set that I used to create in tailor-make personal treatment plans to assist all of my clients.
Areas of treatment:
the areas that I treat are the following: abortion, abuse, addictions, affairs and betrayals,
alcoholism, anger management,
anxiety, Asperger's syndrome, APD, bereavement BPD, bullying, cancer, carer, carer support, chronic fatigue syndrome/MA, DPD, depression, disassociation, domestic violence, eating disorder, emotional abuse, family issues, general anxiety disorder, hoarding, infertility, no self-control, low self-esteem, miscarriage, obsessive-compulsive disorder, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, panic disorder, passive-aggressive behaviour, phobias, physical abuse, PTSD, postnatal depression, pregnancy and birth, redundancy, relationship issues, seasonal effectiveness disorder, self-harm, separation and divorce, sex problems, sexual abuse, sexuality, smoking, spirituality, stress, suicidal thoughts, trauma, and work-related stress.
Fee structure:
The initial consultation that I will offer is free. This consultation will last for roughly 30 to 50 minutes. This will be to assess your issue and find out the best way to help you. If I am unable to offer treatment, I will refer you to an appropriate service at this juncture free of charge. I charge £50 per session. However I do take into consideration employment, and I have a reduced rate of £25 per hour. For those clients that are experiencing extreme difficulty, and live within the West Yorkshire area, I can apply for a bursary of up to £500. This bursary is decided on an individual basis, and cannot be guaranteed.
