With over 25 years of experience working in the medical profession, I understand the strong mind-body connection and the impact it has on our health and well-being.
I qualified from Southampton Medical School in 1987. Medicine was something I wanted to do from a young age, but a few months into my first house job I quickly realised that this wasn’t what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing – there were too many other things to do. After 18 months of work I took a 3 yr sabbatical to follow my passion for dance.  During this period, I qualified as a classical ballet teacher, but I also realised that I wanted to go into Sports Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine. My experience includes working in Rheumatology on the NHS, in a private Sports Medicine clinic and 8 yrs for the Army in the Regional Rehabilitation Unit. I currently work in the Musculoskeletal Dept at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine. I have always had this innate need to improve myself particularly emotionally and psychologically, and this drew me to reading self-help books when I was younger. When I was working in Rheumatology I realised that those with a positive disposition did much better than those who were more negative.  In London I was exposed to Complementary Therapies such as acupuncture and Reiki and working with patients with chronic pain. I became even more aware of the mind-body connection. This influenced my decision to do a Psychotherapy course so that I could understand my patients better. The first year was hypnotherapy. I had never considered hypnotherapy and it opened my mind to a therapy that is capable of having a positive effect on a variety of physical and psychological issues and general well-being. This then lead me on to qualifying in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Matrix Reimprinting. I now have my own private practice. Over the years my approach to clients / patients has become much more holistic. Each client is unique and each has his or her unique set of challenges. I look at areas such as diet, sleep and exercise and assess if the innate needs are being fulfilled.  I work with a variety of tools including the Human Givens and Mindfulness. Hypnotherapy, EFT and Matrix Reimprinting work well together: Hypnotherapy working on a subconscious level, EFT on a cellular level and Matrix at the vibrational level. In my spare time I enjoy walking, visiting National Trust properties and playing the violin in an amateur orchestra. Qualifications and training: BM Southampton medical school 1987 Dip Musculoskeletal Medicine, Dip Sports Medicine, Dip Hypnotherapy & Counselling Skills, Adv Dip Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Changing Patterns & Behaviours, Emotional Freedom Technique, Matrix Reimprinting, Hypno Gastric Band.
