About Me
My name is Ivan Broad. I am a Psychotherapist, accredited with the National Counselling Society and registered with the BACP.
I was originally trained as a Person Centred Counsellor but spent 10 years working in a Therapeutic Community setting where Psychodynamic theory underpinned my work. I later trained in Hypnotherapy and more recently Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and EMDR. I trained with Mike Delaney, an addictions specialist, a huge advocate of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and now work with a herd of therapy horses delivering this innovative approach to working with addictions and complex trauma. I now class myself as an Integrative Psychotherapist, tailoring the work I offer to clients to what they need to move forward. I work from a trauma informed perspective and explore how trauma has impacted on clients, leading them into addiction to cope with the original trauma or complex trauma.
