I am a BACP registered integrative therapist and first experienced the power of personal counselling 20 years ago.
The way I work involves adapting to each client’s unique needs with sensitivity towards inner timing and pace. I work dynamically and without judgement, providing a warm and compassionate presence where the relationship we share will be central to the healing process. Every part of you is welcome and while my work is underpinned by person-centred values, integrative counselling draws on Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Transpersonal and Solution-Focused elements - embracing past, present and future along with patterns of relating that might be getting in the way and elements of spirituality that support the complex aspects of being human. My training began in 2001 and I qualified with a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling from the Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Academy. I have counselled staff at an NHS hospital, and students at a local college and now work in private practice. I bring a wealth of life experience to the counselling relationship and a dedication to continued professional development that includes addiction,
trauma, suicide prevention, loss in its many forms and couples counselling. I work as a facilitator in a secondary breast cancer support group. I welcome and support all the following areas of concern: Ways of coping that have taken over such as
alcohol addiction,
cocaine addiction, food,
sex or
gambling. Low mood, depression or anxiety might be impacting an ability to fully enjoy life and relationships. Relationship difficulties - couples, families or friendships. Bereavement and loss. The experience of serious illness. Parents who might be feeling overwhelmed, confused or very desperate. Young people might feel like talking to a caring person about the challenges they face inside and outside the home, worries or relationship problems. The challenges of later life. Conflict over work issues. £45 for individuals. £70 couples. Initial session £10.
