My background in counselling began working for local authority addiction recovery services.
The reasons for addiction and the issues that a client may face can be very varied. I have a track record of helping clients to progress their recovery by facilitating a safe therapeutic environment where the client can benefit from having the time and space to feel comfortable in exploring issues or situations that may be preventing the progress they wish to make..
I use an integrative approach to my practice to provide a flexible approach, tailored to each client’s individual circumstances and evolving needs. Often this might combine person centred and cognitive approaches. This combination gives clients space to explore thoughts and feelings relating to their experiences, combined with the opportunity to adjust thought processes and develop action plans that will enable them to better handle everyday situations.
I am qualified to diploma level and have approximately 400 client hours experience, gained over five years in practice to date.
I am a registered member of the BACP.
Issues that I work with include: Addiction, abuse, anxiety, bereavement, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), stress, self-esteem, work-related issues.
My regular fee is £50 per hour long session. I offer a reduced rate initial consultation. Concessions are available for students, those on a low income, and those in receipt of benefits.
